HISTORY
The Waterman State Bank was established in 1891 by Humphrey Roberts. Humphrey along with his sons helped form the strong foundation of the bank that still exists today. The Roberts family was in Waterman State Bank’s leadership for over 75 years. In 1969, Milo and Elizabeth George (known to many as Buck and Puzz) purchased shares of the bank from the Roberts family. During his 63 years of serving the Waterman State Bank, Buck spent 14 of those years as president. After Buck retired Robert Daniel filled the position of President. Robert Daniel started his career with the bank in 1970. Bob served in several positions before he became president. Bob spent 15 years as president before retiring in 2002. Bob continues to be a part of the bank by serving on the board. Al Golden served on the board since 1963, and was chairman of the board from 1995 until leaving the position in 2008. Throughout the years we have had many great people serve the Waterman State Bank in various positions. A few examples are, Donna (MacDougall) Leifheit, who dedicated 44 years of service to Waterman State Bank and Elizabeth “Puzz” George who served on the board and has been a part of the bank for many years. We will forever be grateful for the service that each individual contributed to the Waterman State Bank. Those of us at the Waterman State Bank will never forget the stockholders who made it possible for the bank to continue as it is today.
